Key Ingredients

Horsetail: Rich source of silica & minerals. Horsetail stimulates, nurtures and strengthens hair, giving it vitality and shine.

Sodium Coco Sulfate (SCS) & Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate (SCI) – Both of these are foaming and cleansing ingredients, and they are naturally derived from coconuts.

Hydrolyzed quinoa: Effective at nourishing hair for repair, hydration and shine. Quinoa is an effective protein as it has all 8 of the essential amino acids, which is rare for vegetable proteins. Also great for coloured hair.

DL-Panthenol (Pro-vitamin B5): This ingredient helps with hydration, enhances shine, smooths hair and discourages knots.

Ingredients: sodium cocoyl isethionate, sodium coco sulfate, coco-glucoside (plant source), sodium lauryl sulfoacetate, cetearyl alcohol, vitis vinifers (grapeseed oil), behentrimonium methosulfate, cetyl alcohol, butylene glycol, hydrolyzed quinoa, theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, equisetum arvense (wildcrafted horsetail powder), sodium lactate, DL-panthenol (pro-vitamin B5), diheptyl succinate (and) capryloyl glycerin/sebacic acid copolymer, benzyl alcohol (and) salicylic acid (and) glycerin (and) sorbic acid (natural preservative), picea mariana (black spruce), abies balsamea (fir balsam), juniperus Mexicana (cedarwood), citrus limonum (lemon), pinus sylvestris (pine).

Usage

How to Use: Wet your hair and the shampoo bar. Rub the bar between your hands to create a lather, or apply directly to your scalp and hair. Massage thoroughly and rinse well. Follow with Boreal Folk's horsetail conditioner bar for optimal results. Keep dry between uses.

Shampoo bar

This is a genius idea and the perfect concoction. Small but very concentrated and long lasting. Suds up nicely and leaves no residue. Love using a product that respects the environment and works well!

I'm actually so blown away! I can never find a product to get through my waves and tangles. Not to mention one that I feel is safe enough to use. I am 100% purchasing this again.

I switched to these bars and haven’t gone back they last a while and living off grid I needed something that would not only nourish my hair but also not harm my garden this was a win

Works great on curls

I have type 3a-2c hair. This is the first bar shampoo I’ve tried. I really enjoy it! I find it is great to lather the hair without combing it first and it helps with detangling it during washes. Because of this, I feel like I am experiencing less breakage. My curls also feel more defined and last longer, though I haven’t changed any other part of my routine.
I also usually have dry, flaky scalp, which is common in curly hair. This soap is very good at clarifying without damaging the hair, so I feel like my scalp is clean with just one lather of product, whereas with other shampoos I would have to wash multiple times.
Overall I would say I waited too long to try bar shampoo with curly hair, since it’s not marketed to us! But it works really well— and botanical folk avoids all the harmful additives that harm curls already! (SLS, silicone, mineral oil, etc). I am really enjoying the bar shampoo and will give the conditioner a try too.

Ps. I take my soap out of the shower in between wash days to dry on the counter, so that it lasts longer!
